With Anne, I explore that fragile moment when we leave childhood behind but are not yet adults. She lives in a suspended, blurred space, but her gaze is clear, vibrant, full of intention. Around her, everything becomes breath and movement, as if she refuses to be frozen in time. The palette of antique hues (olive, earth red, mint, and burnt orange) envelops this moment of transition, of inner blossoming. It is a work about the search for identity, about the freedom to build oneself without attachments.
Unlike the other paintings in the collection, Anne has no lines in the background. She did not want to be anchored in lineage. She stands alone. It is a strong pictorial choice: a break with heritage, a refusal to be defined by history. Her structured face contrasts with the rest of her body, which dissolves into abstraction, reflecting this desire to be free, fluid, unclassifiable. Anne embodies pure affirmation: allowing oneself to exist in ambiguity, to be “too much,” to take up all the space.
About the collection — My Memory Garden
My Memory Garden is a collection of works inspired by childhood memories, maternal heritage, and tender moments engraved in the heart. Each portrait, framed in a vintage style, celebrates imperfect, free, and deeply human women. The repeated lines in the background evoke memory, mortality, and the traces left by those who came before us.
