The Birth of Aphrodite (after Aphrodite)

24 × 48 in | Oil on canvas | 2026
In Divine Outcast, I revisit the myth of Aphrodite through a contemporary feminist lens.
Rather than an object of admiration, she appears grounded in her own quiet power — unapologetic and untouched by the gaze that once defined her.
Around her drift nine flowers, quiet markers of the cycles of womanhood: birth, transformation, and release.
Her white underwear becomes a symbol of autonomy. She chooses what to reveal, what to keep sacred.
This Aphrodite is not born from seafoam for the pleasure of the viewer. She is born from strength, imperfection, and the fierce knowledge that she owes the world nothing but her authentic self.

About the Divine Outcast collection
Divine Outcast is a series of feminist portraits reimagining women from mythology, religion, and art history whose stories were distorted by fear, shame, or misunderstanding. Each painting restores their voice, presenting them not as symbols or warnings, but as powerful women reclaiming their own narratives.
