"One in Four Hundred Trillion" is a testament to remembrance and ancestor worship as well. The lines in the background create a strong pattern representing the likelihood of you being born as you and grounds the portrait on the raw canvas. As I painted each and every individual line, I was overcome with the feeling of being guided by my maternal line. Painting each line felt like painting a life that gave life to the next. It felt like grounding my muse in her maternal ancestors and letting her be supported by all the women that came before her.
